The calendar for the 2015 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season has been revealed, with the championship now featuring two races per weekend and a reduction in events to nine.
The only venue change from 2014 is the removal of the Hungaroring event from the calendar. There remains two races at the Hockenheimring, which continues with the tradition of hosting both the season opener and season finale.
The most significant change is the move to two races per weekend, with one race taking place on Saturday and one on Sunday.
“We know that many DTM enthusiasts were keen on two races per weekend as every additional race minute promises additional excitement and action,” said ITR Chairman Hans Werner Aufrecht. “Now we responded to this desire and we are going to fix the details in the coming weeks.”
No additional information has yet been provided about how the grid for the two races will be formed, or the length and championship points on offer in each race.
