Spaniard Pepe Oriola will make his World Touring Car Championship return at the season finale in Macau as planned, driving a SEAT León for Campos Racing in the TC2 class.
Oriola, a race winner in the WTCC in 2013, was left without a drive this season as the series switched to the new TC1 regulations. However the 20-year-old Catalan has been working as a driver advisor for Campos in both the WTCC and ETCC.
“I am excited to come back to racing,” said Oriola of his November return. “Macau is always an interesting track and thanks to my sponsor Cali Group Macau, I will go for it. It would be nice to be on the podium of the TC2T category.”
Oriola has also been linked to a drive in the newly-announced TC3 Series, although no drive has yet been confirmed for the Spaniard.
Oriola has started 72 races in the WTCC, with one win and six podiums to his name.
