Colin Turkington continued to set the pace in second practice for the British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill, with eBay Motors again occupying the top two positions, albeit with Nick Foster in second.
Rain before the start of the session saw the drivers head out on to a drying track, before conditions worsened as the session progressed.
Turkington was quickest before the heavens opened properly, posting a lap of 56.484 seconds to beat team-mate Foster to the top time by a mere 0.022 seconds.
Sam Tordoff was third fastest in his MG and was the leading works entry, ahead of team-mate Jason Plato in fourth.
The works’ Honda duo of Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal were fifth and sixth fastest, with the latter having caused a red flag stoppage in the final ten minutes when he went off the circuit in the wet conditions.
Rob Austin, on pole at Knockhill in 2013, was seventh fastest, ahead of reigning champion Andrew Jordan in eighth.
Airwaves Racing’s Fabrizio Giovanardi and eBay Motors’ Rob Collard completed the top ten.
Speedworks Motorsport’s Tom Ingram failed to take to the track during the 40-minute session having suffered an engine failure in first practice. His team are working to replace the unit before qualifying.
