Münnich Motorsport has unveiled the first photographs of its 2014 TC1 Chevrolet for the World Touring Car Championship, which will be driven by René Münnich and Gianni Morbidelli.
The German team acquired the two RML-built cars at the last minute and have now taken delivery of the chassis, with the season-opening race in Marrakech in less than two weeks time.
Team Principal Münnich is looking forward to the season ahead, especially now that he has a year’s experience on the majority of circuits, having campaigned a SEAT León alongside Rob Huff and Marc Basseng in 2013.
“For me it is only the second season in the WTCC and on the circuits,” said Münnich. “Last year everything was new for me – not only the tracks, but also the art of driving. I hope I will be able to handle the Chevrolet and also the new longer-lasting tyres quite well. I think top ten placings and to be near the top ten should be my goal this season.”
Münnich will be joined by Italian Morbidelli, who previously raced in the WTCC in 2006 where he took a best result of second on two occasions in Brazil and Mexico.
“I am really looking forward to starting in the WTCC again and to work with René Münnich and his team who did such a great job last year as the newbies of the World Touring Car Championship,” added Morbidelli.
