Mercedes-Benz have revealed their updated team and driver line-up for the 2014 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season, with the only significant change being Pascal Wehrlein moving to HWA and newcomer Vitaly Petrov slotting in at RSC-Mücke Motorsport.
The marque revealed their new line-up in front of employees at the firm’s Untertürkheim plant, with several of the manufacturer’s C-Coupé cars in action.
Driving under the banner of Original Teile / AMG Mercedes will be Christian Vietoris (#5) and Paul Di Resta (#6). Racing under the banner of EURONICS / GRIP Mercedes AMG will be Gary Paffett (#11) and Robert Wickens (#12). Daniel Juncadella (#19) and Vitaly Petrov (#20) will race under the banner of Petronas / AMG Mercedes for Mücke Motorsport, whilst Pascal Wehrlein (#25) will race under the name of Gooix Mercedes AMG in a fifth car for the HWA team.
“It was wonderful to sense the enthusiasm of everyone at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Untertürkheim for motor racing and to lay on a thrilling DTM display for them inside their factory gates,” said Mercedes-Benz Head of Motorsport Toto Wolff. “I would be delighted to see them turn out in their numbers for the DTM season opener at Hockenheim and cheer on our drivers in the Motodrom and from the Mercedes-Benz grandstand.
“Once again, we have put together a strong squad, with an excellent mix of experience and youth. In Gary Paffett and Paul di Resta, we have two former DTM champions. Also taking the wheel of our DTM Mercedes AMG C-Coupés will be drivers who have already made a name for themselves in DTM and Formula 1, plus our Mercedes Juniors. I am convinced that our drivers will be giving colleagues and fans alike plenty to shout about this year.”
