Andrew Jordan won the third and final British Touring Car Championship race of the day at Knockhill, ahead of Matt Neal and Rob Collard.

In similar fashion to Colin Turkington’s two victories earlier in the day, Jordan was dominant throughout the race despite having to cope with a safety car, brought out to remove the stricken car of Warren Scott two laps after he had abandoned it. Jordan caught his rivals off guard on the restart, and pulled clear to win the race by nearly four seconds.
Behind him, Collard held second place for much of the proceedings after rocketing off the line, but found himself under increasing pressure from Neal behind. They had been joined in battle by Gordon Shedden and Colin Turkington, before the former pulled off after an engine fire on lap 17.
On lap 19 Neal dived up the inside of Collard through Clarks and finally secured second place at the hairpin, after a great tussle down the back straight between the pair. That grouping remained in order, with Collard nevertheless claiming his first podium of the season and Turkington following up his two earlier wins with a fourth place to cap a fine day in his chase for the championship lead*.
Rob Austin wasn’t quite able to replicate the same pace that he had shown in the first two races, but a fifth place still meant that it was his and his team’s most successful race weekend in the BTCC. Jason Plato was a distant sixth in a weekend to forget for his MG squad – his teammate Sam Tordoff missed the final race altogether after a problem on the second warm-up lap.
Dan Welch had his best finish of the season in claiming seventh, ahead of Mat Jackson, Nick Foster and Adam Morgan, the latter having come from 23rd on the grid after a driveshaft failure in race two.
Kieran Gallagher came home in 14th to score points on his BTCC debut, having knocked Liam Griffin out of the race at the hairpin. That allowed Lea Wood to claim his tenth Jack Sears Trophy of the season, his efforts rewarded with three points for 13th place. Mike Bushell had been on course for points in his debut weekend, until he was hit by Aron Smith on the restart, forcing the Cruze driver to retire from the race. Aiden Moffat also suffered a disappointing end to his weekend, as he was unable to take part in the final race after sustaining damage in race two.
*Turkington was later thrown out of the race for a technical infringement.
