Reigning World Touring Car Champion Rob Huff is in China this week helping leading Chinese Touring Car Championship (CTCC) outfit Team Shanghai VW 333 Racing with their development programme.
Brit Huff is helping the team to develop their Volkswagen Polo GTI racer, which is based on a chassis supplied by leading WTCC team RML and supplied by Hong Kong-based company Gusto Technik.
Following a successful test at the Shanghai Tianma Circuit – which played host to the first-ever WTCC race in mainland China in 2011, Huff moved on to the Guangdong International Circuit, approximately 55 km to the north-west of Guangzhou. There, Huff provided two days of driver coaching for drivers from China, Hong Kong and Macau.
Team Shanghai won the title in 2012 but in 2013 are languishing behind the Chang’an Ford team at the mid-point of the season.
Huff returns to action in the WTCC for Münnich Motorsport at the Sonoma Raceway in California, USA on the 7th and 8th September 2013.
