RML’s Yvan Muller led a Chevrolet 1-2-3 in second free practice for the World Touring Car Championship at the Moscow Raceway, ahead of team-mate Tom Chilton and Nika Racing’s Michel Nykjær.

Muller’s time of 1:43.267 was three tenths faster than first practice pace-setter Tom Coronel’s time earlier in the morning. The Frenchman was just 0.042 seconds faster than Chilton at the end of the session.
Under sunny skies, Dane Nykjær was the first to the top of the timesheets with a 1:43.562. Nykjaer’s time held for the first half of the session before Muller posted the top time with 11 minutes to go, immediately followed by Chilton going second.
Rob Huff was the top SEAT driver in fourth, more than half a second off the leading Chevrolet’s pace, ahead of the top BMW of Tom Coronel in fifth.
Huff’s Münnich Motorsport team-mate Marc Basseng improved on his 22nd in FP1 to go sixth in FP2, ahead of Mehdi Bennani’s Proteam BMW in seventh.
PB Racing’s Stefano D’Aste, Honda’s Gabriele Tarquini and LADA’s James Thompson completed the top ten.
Local drivers Nikolay Karamyshev and Mikhail Kozlovskiy struggled for pace more in FP2, managing just 18th and 21st respectively. It was also a difficult session for Zengő Motorsport’s Norbert Michelisz, with the Hungarian only managing 22nd.
Qualifying takes place at 14:30 MSK (11:30 BST, 12:30 CEST).
