Andrew Jordan resumes his challenge for the 2013 British Touring Car Championship drivers’ title at Oulton Park after a five week break.
Arriving in Cheshire, the Pirtek Racing driver is 13 points off the Championship lead but could have been leading the standings had he not suffered a last lap puncture at Thruxton last time out.
As the Championship reaches one third distance, Jordan admits that there is a long way to go in the Championship battle but is confident of a strong weekend in Cheshire.
Oulton Park marked the circuit where Jordan secured his maiden BTCC podium finish in 2008 and he always performs well there.
“There is a long way to go yet,” he said. “We should have got pole at Oulton Park last year, so I think we’ll be very strong. We had very good race pace there last year.
“In the break we tried a lot of things to make sure we keep the momentum going forward. It will be great to be back racing again!”
Team-mate Jeff Smith heads to Cheshire sixth overall in the drivers’ Championship and third in the Independents’, while Jordan leads the way in the Independents’.
