Jamie Green was the fastest driver in practice for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz, as the Audi driver beat Mercedes-Benz’s Gary Paffett to the top time.

Audi proved to be extremely competitive in the weekend’s practice session, with its drivers filling six out of the top ten positions. In contrast it was a difficult practice session for form-marque BMW, who only had one car inside the top ten and was left occupying six out of the seven bottom places.
Green ended the session just 0.029 seconds faster than fellow Brit Paffett, having been in the top half of the times throughout the session.
Timo Scheider was third fastest, with the German having held the top spot until shortly before the end of the session. Robert Wickens was fourth after a strnog session in his HWA-run Mercedes.
Adrien Tambay and Mike Rockenfeller were fifth and sixth for Audi Sport Team Abt and Team Phoenix respectively, whilst the top BMW driver in the session was BMW Team Schnitzer’s Bruno Spengler in seventh, 0.295 seconds off the pace.
Mattias Ekström, Pascal Wehrlein and Edoardo Mortara completed the top ten, despite a late spin for the Italian at turn three.
BMW drivers occupied positions 16 to 22, with only Audi’s Filipe Albuquerque in 19th preventing them from posting the slowest six times.
