Darryl O’Young heads to Marrakech for rounds three and four of the 2013 World Touring Car Championship looking to repeat his double Independents’ points finish from Monza.
The Hong Kong racer made his BMW 320TC debut at Monza with the ROAL Motorsport team having previously raced Front Wheel Drive cars in the WTCC. He secured an outright top ten starting position in Italy and is he keen to continue his strong start to the campaign.
“I’m looking to continue building on the progress we made in pre-season testing and the race in Monza. I am getting more comfortable with the BMW each time I drive it. I will strive to continue improving each race, and be more consistently amongst the top 6 cars in the races,” explains O’Young, who is chasing his maiden outright World Touring Car Championship podium.
The circuit, which features two long straights and tight chicanes is a circuit which hasn’t favoured the German machinery before, however O’Young is determined to maximise the amount of performance he can get from the #55 ROAL Motorsport BMW 320TC.
“My goal is to score as many points as possible in Marrakech and also try to be the top BMW driver in the races. It is a good target and then from Slovakia, we can aim for stronger results in qualifying and the races,” adds O’Young, who secured a 5th and 4th in the Yokohama Independents’ in 2012.
