Following a difficult opening meeting at Brands Hatch, Honda found form with a strong performance at Donington Park.
Gordon Shedden scored his first victory of the season in the first race of the day, whilst he and teammate Matt Neal scored two further podiums each to kickstart their 2013 campaigns.
Leading from pole, Shedden controlled the opening race and finished 0.426s ahead of Andrew Jordan in his Pirtek Racing machine, with Neal resisting arch-rival Jason Plato to complete a Civic 1-2-3 on the podium.
Results from the weekend have pushed Neal and Shedden to third and fifth in the championship respectively.
“To be on the podium three times is good,” said Shedden. “I don’t know how I got on the podium in race three because there were all sorts of shenanigans going on!
“It underlines the quality of the chassis. We’ve made a lot of progress and it was nice to get a good points haul.”
And for Neal, who started for the 500th time in the BTCC in the second race, it was crucial to get some strong results on the board. Neal is now 14 points behind Jason Plato, who heads the championship,
“It was a good, strong weekend for us. It could have been better but we’ve come away with two straight cars and five podiums,” said Neal.
“It was a solid weekend and we both needed it. It’s also good for the manufacturers’ and teams’ championships. There was still good speed in the car.”
