Honda Yuasa Racing Team has confirmed that Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal will once again drive for the team in the 2013 British Touring Car Championship.
The team, which switched to the NGTC Honda Civic for 2012, secured 13 victories en route to the drivers’ title with Shedden, Neal as the Championship runner up while securing the manufacturers and teams’ titles.
The season opener gave Neal a small piece of history; his victory in the second race at Brands Hatch was the first victory for an NGTC specification car.
Reflecting on the 2012 campaign, both Scotsman Shedden and triple Champion Neal had special thanks to all of the fans, and Shedden commented: “It’s been a long road for both of us and without the fans who have endured some very wet races this year; we could not have achieved this success. Their support has been amazing.”
The driver announcement also saw the confirmation that Yuasa Battery Sales (UK) would continue their sponsorship of the team into the 2013 campaign, which gets underway at Brands Hatch over the 30/31 March.
