Andrew Jordan is targeting victory at home his home circuit of Donington Park as the 2012 British Touring Car Championship arrives for rounds four, five and six of the season.
Having secured a double podium last time out at Brands Hatch, the Pirtek Racing driver is looking to continue his strong start to the season at the wheel of his NGTC Honda Civic.
He arrives at the East Midlands circuit lying third overall in the overall Championship – behind Jason Plato and Matt Neal – while he leads the way in the Independents’ drivers Championship.
“Donington is my home track and I had a very good weekend there last year,” said Jordan, who won the second race of the day in the corresponding race weekend in 2011. “It’s a very strong track for us and I’m going there with the aim of getting a win. We had a great weekend at Brands and I want to build on that at Donington.”
He feels that the teams’ Honda Civic should suit the fast, flowing nature of the Leicestershire circuit: “We’ve still got a little bit to go to get the set-up perfect, but the Honda should suit Donington’s fast, flowing corners. I really enjoyed Brands and now I’m looking forward to Donington. In fact, I wish we were racing over the Easter weekend as I can’t wait to get back in the car!”
Team-mate at Pirtek Racing, Jeff Smith, secured his career best result at Brands Hatch as he finished fourth in the final race of the day. His Brands Hatch results meant that he sits sixth in the overall standings and fourth in the Independent standings.
After three of thirty races, Pirtek Racing lead the way in the HiQ Teams’ Championship and Independent Teams’ Trophy.
