Mat Jackson has been stripped of his race three win at Donington Park for a technical infringement, whilst Jason Plato has been given a post-race two second penalty for contact with Gordon Shedden.
Jackson’s car was found to be in exceedance of the permitted turbo boost regulations. The changes hand the race victory to Gordon Shedden, who initially finished third on the road.
Meanwhile Plato had two seconds added to his race time after pushing Shedden off the road at the final corner of the final lap.
For Tony Gilham the changes have also resulted in his first-ever top-three finish in the BTCC, although technically it is not his first podium finish as he never took part in the podium ceremony.
The changes mean that Plato still leads the driver’s championship from Matt Neal and Andrew Jordan, with Jackson dropping from second to sixth in the standings.
