Andrew Jordan took his new Pirtek Motorsport Honda Civic to the top of the timesheets in the second free practice session for the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch.

Jordan set a time of 48.639 seconds to go faster than the works Honda of Matt Neal, who was second quickest and 0.273 seconds behind. Neal had initially set the pace but was demoted to second as Jordan continued to put in fast laps in his identical Civic.
Third fastest was Tom Onslow-Cole – the eBay Motors driver putting in a fast lap late in the session to elevate himself up the timesheets.
Whilst Jordan and Neal will have reason to be pleased after their practice performances, there was further woe for Gordon Shedden who failed to set a competitive time due to recurring electrical problems with his Honda.
Rob Austin continued to show encouraging pace in his Audi A4 – he finished fourth fastest, just ahead of a much stronger showing from Jason Plato in the new MG6. Plato, who had been 20th in the first session and more than four seconds off the pace, was immediately much faster in second practice and finished the session less than half a second from Jordan’s time.
Mat Jackson and Árón Smith were sixth and seventh quickest for Redstone Racing. Jeff Smith was eighth – making it three of the four new Civic’s that have been built by Team Dynamics inside the top ten.
This morning’s early pace setter Rob Collard could only manage ninth fastest in the second session, some four tenths of a second slower than his effort earlier in the day. Tenth was the turbocharged BMW of Nick Foster, ensuring all three WSR-run eBay Motors cars ended the session inside the top ten.
John Thorne was unable to take to the circuit as a result of his heavy crash in this morning’s first practice session.
