Audi have released images of four colorful new Audi A5 DTM liveries which they will use in their 2012 campaign in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.
Audi Head of Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich is pleased to be able to continue working with such a diverse range of organisations during the 2012 season.
“That almost all our partners from last year continue to be with us and that we managed to inspire the enthusiasm of Alpinestars, EMC2, Kicker and TAG Heuer as new strong brands for the DTM and for Audi clearly shows that the DTM’s popularity will increase even further this year,” said Ullrich.
“Without the support of our partners it wouldn’t be possible to field a total of eight cars under a factory commitment in such a high-caliber racing series. In addition, they are adding color. I think that our designers in collaboration with our partners have managed to get very beautiful cars off the ground. I’m convinced that the fans will feel similarly and that the sporty elegance of the Audi A5 and the unique shape of the coupe will impress in the DTM as well.”
Notably the firm will continue its association with several partners, as well as announcing new deals for the coming season. Mattias Ekström and Miguel Molina will once again race in the colours of Austrian energy drinks giant Red Bull, who continue their association with the DTM for an eleventh season.
Swiss racer Rahel Frey will also sport similar colours to Scheider – albeit the other way around. Rahel’s car is to be adorned in Yellow at the front and white at the back as she is also sponsored by the German postal service as well as the Computer Bild Spiele magazine.
Audi’s latest signing, Adrien Tambay, will race in the silver and white colours of Audi Ultra.
All four of Audi’s latest liveries were on show at the first official DTM track tests at Valencia and the liveries of Albuquerque, Frey, Molina and Tambay will be on show in two weeks time as the series heads to the Hockenheimring for further testing on the 2nd to 5th April 2012.
