2008 International Superstars Series Champion Stefano Gabellini has confirmed his plans for the 2012 season, as he returns in a BMW M3 E92 under the Team BMW Dinamic banner.
Gabellini has been a long term supporter of the series and for 2012, the Romagna-based driver has signed to drive a BMW M3 E92 for the third season, and he will partner Thomas Biagi in the team, as he did during the ROAL Motorsport days. Roberto Ravaglia and the ROAL Motorsport team will be providing engineering support to Team BMW Dinamic and team owner Maurizio Lusuardi.
“I’m really happy to have signed for another year in the SUPERSTARS SERIES,” commented Gabellini on the announcement. “It’s a fast-growing series, with an incredible media coverage and huge numbers in terms of attendance at every track. Being part of Team BMW Dinamic is particularly motivating for me. In 2005, I won the ETCS Championship on a BMW and my team-mates were Maurizio Lusuardi and Giampiero Pindari. Both of them are now partners in this new venture”.
He also believes that signing for the Team BMW Dinamic outfit, which will be helped by ROAL Motorsport, will offer at least one further technical guarantee: “It’s the main reason why I believe I can aim at some great results. Indeed, I will run on my “old” car and I already know several of our mechanics for their professionalism…”
Monza hosts the opening round of the 2012 Superstars Season, over the 31 March/1 April, with the season concluding in November with the first trip to Asia when the series heads to Indonesia.
