Alain Menu lead the way in the first free practice session in Macau, as Chevrolet team-mates Yvan Muller and Rob Huff set the top three times around a wet Guia circuit.

Lapping around ten seconds per lap slower than in yesterday’s damp test session, it was Swiss racer Menu who rose to the top of the timesheets. However both of his team-mates were within half a second of his best time to keep him honest during the session.
Tiago Monteiro was the best of the rest, the Portugese racer fourth fastest in his SUNRED León, although 2.5 seconds off the pace.
Fredy Barth for once emerged as a top runner in another of the SUNRED cars, setting the fifth fastest time to beat even experienced team-mate Gabriele Tarquini, who went sixth fastest.
The top BMW racer was Mehdi Bennani in seventh; It was a difficult practice session for the BMW drivers, with Kristian Poulsen suffering a spin and Tom Coronel having an accident on his final flying lap.
André Couto, who was forced to sit out the test session on Thursday, went 16th fastest in the seventh SUNRED car this weekend.
The top 17 cars were within 10 seconds of Menu’s pace, with the times being much closer than in the changeable conditions experienced on Thursday.
Lo Ka Chun did not set a time in his 778 Autosport Peugeot 308, having managed a handful of laps on Thursday. However there was further bad luck for Corsa Motorsport’s Kuok Io Keong, who has yet to turn a wheel in anger this weekend.
