Off the line, Pole Position driver Franz Engstler got off the line while Coronel was flying and found himself in the lead – Huff was third behind Michel Nykjaer and half way round the opening lap, he made a bold move out on the mountain section to snatch second from the Yokohama Independent driver.

Yvan Muller was making his way up the field and by the end of the opening lap; he had made it into fifth – and still in a Championship winning position.

Lap three – as Huff took the lead from Coronel, Muller took fourth from Mehdi Bennani – and he was once again back into the Championship winning position, and the following lap the Safety car was deployed as Gary Kwok spun coming out of Mandarin and into the wall. Further around the lap, local driver Andre Couto had parked it with engine problems.

It took three laps to get the race back underway and it took Muller two laps after the restart to secure the crown as he made his move to take third from Nykjaer at Lisboa. By this point, Huff had bolted and way setting fastest lap after fastest lap.

The final laps of the season saw Tarquini secure fourth from Nykjaer at Lisboa and then closed in on Muller – but never made a move over the rest of the lap.

Huff secured his eighth victory of the season ahead of Coronel and Muller – Coronel secured himself the role of best of the rest for the season.

Nykjaer secured his second Yokohama Independents’ victory of the day with fifth overall and ultimately wound up just two points behind Poulsen, who could only finish eighth in class, while the Jay-Ten honours went the way once again of Joseph Merszei.
