The Chinese round of the 2011 World Touring Car Championship will take place at Tianma Circuit in Shanghai, it has has been announced.
The meeting was originally scheduled to take place at Guangdong International Circuit but, due to undisclosed reasons, the championship was forced to find a new venue.
The penultimate round of the 2011 WTCC will therefore be held at Shanghai’s second international circuit after the first choice of the Shanhai International Circuit, used to hold Formula One World Championship races, was already booked for the weekend of the 5-6 November.
Taking place in conjunction with the Chinese Touring Car Championship (CTCC), the WTCC Race of China will be the first international touring car race to take place at Tianma Circuit. The venue, which opened in 2004, is a regular on the CTCC calendar.
