Hong Kong drift and touring car star Charles Ng will race a fourth Engstler Motorsport BMW 320si from the Japanese round of the championship onwards, it was announced today.
Ng, 27, will race alongside regular drivers Franz Engstler, Kristian Poulsen and the recently announced KK-Motorsport entry of Masaki Kano. It has been confirmed that Ng will also race at the Chinese and Macau events in November.
Whilst his stablemates will all be driving 1.6 turbo BMW’s, Ng will make his début in the World Championship with a 2-litre normally aspirated car.
Ng has had experience of touring car racing in the past, despite only having been racing since 2007, and lifted the coveted Asian Touring Car Series (ATCS) crown in 2010 at the wheel of a Honda Integra DC5 after taking two victories.
He has been competing in drift events for the past three years and has competed in a number of drift events in the United States, where he currently resides, in recent years.
