With the World Touring Car Championship currently taking a month off before the series resumes in September, Touring-Cars.Net took the chance to look at the statistics and see who the numbers say is going strong in 2011.
Whilst Rob Huff is currently leading the championship on points, he also is leading many of the compiled statistics detailed below. Huff tops the race wins, fastest laps, laps led, Q2 pole positions and points finishes tables. His incredible consistency – he is the only driver to have finished every race in the points – could be what nets him the title – if Muller doesn’t keep catching, that is.
WTCC rookie Javier Villa García also appears in several tables – having netted a podium, fastest lap and led a lap in his first season. Franz Engstler not only scored his first ever WTCC podium this season but also his first ever win last time out at Oschersleben. He may yet add to that tally in the remainder of the season.
