Team Aon will therefore run a third car for Onslow-Cole from Croft onwards alongside Tom Chilton and Andy Neate. Although the team have yet to win a race this year with the new Ford Focus they have secured one podium at the season opener. The addition of Onslow-Cole will enable the team to push forward in the championship as they are currently down in 6th in the Team’s standings – in 2010 they finished in second.
Onslow-Cole put the success of the move down to Chilton, whose father is the Chairman of Aon Benfield, and admitted that the two had been in regular contact.

I’m looking forward to racing with Tom again this year and helping him and Andy develop the new car to its true potential this season.
“I have some great memories from the 2010 season with Team Aon and I look forward to building on those in the new Global Ford Focus this year. I’ve very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”
Team Aon team principal Mike Earle hopes that Onslow-Cole can help to develop the new Global Ford Focus into a race winner this season.
“Tom was a fantastic asset to the team last season and he makes a very welcome return this year,” added Earle. “The new Focus has already proven itself with a podium in its first ever race weekend at Brands Hatch, but there is still a lot of work to do in developing the car further. We know from previous experience that Tom will provide a great deal of feedback and help us move forward as a team and we look forward to seeing all three cars move further up the standings as the season goes on.”
