Tom Onslow-Cole and AmD Milltek Racing.com are to part ways it has been announced this weekend at Oulton Park. The news, which broke before the final race of the day at Oulton Park, meant that Onslow-Cole did not take to the grid for the final race of the day.
According to the team the split has been amicable and has been made so that Onslow-Cole can take up the offer of a drive elsewhere.
Since Onslow-Cole joined the team at the start of the year he has guided the Volkswagen Golf to a best result of seventh at Donington Park and Thruxton. In just 11 races he scored the teams first ever points finishes and brought success to the squad which is only in its second season in the BTCC.
“We have enjoyed working with Tom during his short time as part of the AmD Milltek Racing.com team and wish him all the best for his future career,” said team principal Shaun Hollamby. “We were told of Tom’s decision 15 minutes before the final race today at Oulton Park and that he would no longer be driving for us.
“AmD Milltek Racing.com is staffed by a strong and talented group of people who will continue working hard to build on the progress we have made this season. As a team, we remain focused on moving the Volkswagen Golf up the BTCC grid and will evaluate replacement drivers to allow us to continue with the progress made so far through the remainder of the season.
“We would like to thank Milltek and Tesco Momentum 99 for all of their support during our exciting campaign so far and look forward to further success on track.”
AmD have not released any information on a possible replacement driver but have stated that an announcement will be made in due course.
